What is JotForm

Note: There are other options out there, this is just one of the more commonly used form creators.

JotForm is a web bases WYSIWYG form builder. It has an easy to use drag and drop feature that allows the user to easily customize a form any which way they want. The integration will easily allow you to create a custom form in which your customers can make simple requests or contact you.

How to use JotForm

First, you will need to sign-up for a free account at JotForm, after this, you will see multiple options.

Note: The Email you use to sign up with JotForm will be the email that all requests are sent to, so please make sure it's an email that is frequently being checked.

Once you decide how you want to set up your form you can start putting it together. I've created a test form that is basic but yet very straight forward.

test form

This was very simply put together using the Quick Tools, dragging, and dropping each filed I wanted. Some fields such as "Contact Date" and "Requester Information" are custom named, so you can provide whatever name you would like to those fields as such.

When you're creating these forms, they will autosave your information, so if you have any kind of ISP outage or your computer restarts on you, you will be able to go right back to JotForm and pick up from where you left off.

Here are some of the basic features of JotForm:

Form Tools:

You can customize each of the drag and drop-boxes, adding images and formatting the heading of the form so it fits more neatly within the design of your website. You can also upload forms or files for your customers within this area as well.

Quick Tools:

These are pre-built fields you can drag and drop and then rename each of the fields if you desire to do so. These are very straight forward and easy to use.

Survey Tools:

If you would like to have a different kind of Survey on your site each week or daily for products, features, etc you can create a form to take your customer opinions and see what works for them and what doesn't.

Payment Tools:

Allows you to integrate a Payment Gateway directly from this area. This feature may not be widely used as this is a shopping cart already and does have built-in Payment Gateways.

Widgets:

Allows for you to provide more information for your customers, links to YouTube, Terms & Conditions, or even allow your customers to snap a photo of themselves on their computers to add to the form.

Where to place JotForm

Now that you've created your form and have it put together the way you would like, you can now preview the form to see how it looks.

Once you click on this you will see your form, there will also be links and code that you can grab to place in your cart.

source code

The Source Code image above shows you what we need to copy and paste for our Cart.

Once in your cart, you will want to navigate to Content>Pages>Select Page you will be editing>Page Details

Then paste the code form the section you see below into here.

code

Now that we have the code where we want it, make sure to save that page and then take a look at it on the Front End of your Website.

You can always make changes to what you've created on JotForm if that form doesn't fit your needs and design.
